Ingredients
Falafels
- 1 portion dried chickpeas or red lentils minus 10 g
- 10g besan (chickpea flour) or red lentil flour
- handful fresh herbs (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 small red onion (optional)
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp cardamom
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- vegetables or salad to serve
Instructions
- Add chickpeas to bowl and cover with water. Set aside to soak for at least 4 hours
- Drain chickpeas and add to Thermomix or food processor
- Add all other ingredients and combine 10secs/speed5. Scrap down sides and repeat as needed until you have a textured thick batter (or on medium speed in your food processor).
- Shape into small golf ball size balls and shallow fry in ghee or coconut oil or bake in the oven or air fryer until golden brown.
- Serve with your choice of vegetables or salad.
